This is the quilt i made for Jane and Mark - they had an early christmas present as we were going away for christmas and i knew they were decorating their room now - they love it - thank goodness!!
Jane with the quilt!! I made it to match a lampshade she had asked me to make back in the autumn.

This is George - Sam's grandson - and I'm a token grandma - he's lovely - quite a character and has inherited Sam's competative streak - which none of the rest of the family can understand - we're all quite relaxed - but they have to win at everything!!

The lampshade!!! Mark found the lamp stand in an antique shop in Mill street and it has been 'renovated'!!!

Just three photos of the completed Provencal landscape I made for Liz's birthday. She seemed to like it and I'm sure it will brighten up a corner of their house! This is just to prove I did do some sewing in France this autumn!!

Photos taken by Grandma last sunday - it was Elaine's 30th birthday and I met Alana for the first time!! Very cute!!!

Sam and I treated Grandad to one of his favourite meringues from France - even better - it was in the shape of an elephant!!! Seemed a shame to eat it!

Hope you like the photos, Ant.

A few photos from our recent trip around France. We went to Provence for my sister-in-law's birthday party and stopped along the way. The photo below was taken on a trip on le canal du midi - at Carcassonne. The weather was so hot for mid october - made the summer seem longer!!! View from the top of the old part of Carcassonne castle.

View walking towards the castle - Kate Mosse describes it perfectly in her book - the labyrinthe- which i re-read whilst in france (in french of course)!

Night time view from near our hotel.

I love looking at roof tops - inspiration coming on for more textile work!!!

This was taken whilst on a river trip - we stopped overnight at a town called Vers
- in the gorges just below the Dordogne. This is a hilltop village nearby.

These are a few pictures of Rosie - I took a ryan air flight from Dinard to East Midlands to visit for a few days - she's so cute!! A very serious baby,- but takes everything in - Gemma put her pants on her head for this photo - poor little thing!! No wonder she looks worried!!

Back to near Vers ( sorry - not very good with downloading photos on blog). We had to drive across this bridge before going on our river trip - this is about 4 kilometers from Vers (forgotten name)!

Another view of bridge - the volvo just squeezed through!

Don't know why this photo is here - a view of our local village - St Esprit du Bois!!

Our hotel in Vers - our room overlooked the river you could watch
the trout swimming in the river - the hotel is called La truite dore!

More photos of Gemma and Rosie - Tim was away in Scotland for a few days with work colleagues.

Next post - Liz's party!

Wednesday 26 August 2009

Gemma, Tim and Rosie have been with us for a week - it was lovely to see them. They went home today so i'm a bit sad!!!! It was the first time Sam had seen Rosie and he spent a lot of time doing the 'entertainig'!! Gemma and Tim had Rosie christened at Bordeaux Church - a very impromptu affair as they didn't want any fuss but just wanted her christened. I had the top layer of their wedding cake in the freezer and it was very tasty!!

Rosie in the dress Gemma bought her - it was very beautiful!! She's laying on the shawl I used for Antoinette and Gemma!!

Rosie is very clever and can almost read by herself!! - at 3 months old!!

Ethan and Rosie - Bev's baby is due at the end of september so Ethan is getting used to having a sister!!

One of many cuddles!!!

The four generations!!
